According to the World Health Organization (WHO) recommendation each person can consume 15-30 % of their daily energy from fat and oil. Household consumption of edible oil of Maryam is a combination of liquid oils such as sunflower, soybean, canola, natural semi-solid oils such as palm or olein and the maximum 15 % hydrogenated oil. The most parts of trans fatty acids in oils and edible vegetable fats are produced in hydrogenation process. Moreover, in animal fats and in milk fat, trans fatty acids are produced in the activity of anaerobic bacteria in digestive system of animals. The amount of trans fatty acid in products derived from cattle and sheep is about 5 % of total fatty acids, whereas the amount of commercial hydrogenated fats may also reached to more than 50 %. Therefore, in the formulation of the semi-solid Maryam oil, as much as possible tried to use less hydrogenated oils. Maryam semi-solid oil is suitable for various domestic and industrial purposes that has at least 30 % of essential fatty acids (linoleic acid and linolenic acid). Furthermore it has a good amount of Beta-Carotene (precursor of vitamin A). Having low trans isomers semi-solid oils in the company, semi-solid vegetable oil with the butter flavor is part of our products.
