Polymeric tapes, thermally or ultrasonically welded together, sometimes by cross-linking. The material consists of cells and builders call it geocells or geocells. When laid, the volumetric geocell becomes a framework for the material that is poured into the cells of the grid: soil, concrete, crushed stone or sand. This polymer material is used in the construction of road embankments. In case of a properly selected grade of geogrid and filler material, the structure provides erosion protection of slopes. The construction is also used for: to strengthen slopes; shore protection of water bodies; protecting the slopes of highways, motorways, highways, runways; construction of car parks; construction of dikes protecting against floods; arrangement of temporary access; arrangement of drainage systems. Black geogrid is widely used to give strength and stability to railway tracks as well as retaining walls. It is laid to reinforce the soil cushion in the construction of pipeline systems.
